Department of Nutrition and Dietetics

Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM was established to conduct teachings, research and professional services in the field of nutrition and dietetics. The department offers two undergraduate programs namelyNutrition and Community Health and Dietetics and also offering M.Sc. and PhD programswith a thesis in the field of Community Nutrition, Nutrition Science and Nutritional Biochemistry. This department focusesresearch areas on nutrition and dietetics among children, teenagers, adults, elderly and specific groups such as people with HIV / AIDS, diabetes, hypertension and renal problems. Research on household food security, healthy lifestyle, health promotion, relationship between socio-cultural and nutrition, functional foods, identify components ofanti-cancer and probiotic and nutraceuticals, health also emphasized. Department of Nutrition and Dietetics also provides professional servicesspecifically, Nutritional Counseling at the Dietetic Clinic, Counseling Laboratory,Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
