Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology plays a pivotal role to jointly offer the Medical Doctor Programme with other clinical departments in the faculty. Although the department does not administer the programme directly, it coordinates various courses and modules pertaining to obstetrics, gynaecology. The department offers the following modules for the Medical Doctor programme:
- SPK3951: Obstetrics and Gynaecology (After passing Year 3)
This course encompasses common clinical situations such as antenatal problems, postpartum problem, maternal and perinatal mortality, benign and malignant gynaecological diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, infertility, contraception and menopause, interpretation of clinical symptoms and signs, differential diagnosis, and plan management.
- SPK4952: Senior Obstetrics and Gynaecology (After passing Year 4)
The course encompasses history taking and physical examination of obstertrics and gynaecology patients, rational approach on investigation and management of clinical problems, therapeutic aspects and therapeutic procedures in the clinics, wards and operation theatres.
