What is Infertility?

Infertility is the inability to conceive through sexual relations without using contraception after a year of trying. Generally, the percentage of male and female infertility is almost the same. In Malaysia, about 1 in 7 couples have no children.

Common cause of male infertility due to low sperm count, sperm ducts (vas deferens) are blocked, sperm and seminal ejaculation is reversible (looping ejaculation) and hormonal disorders. The cause of female infertility may be caused by blockage of the fallopian tubes, hormonal disorders, endometriosis (uterine tissue ectopic) and the presence of antisperm antibodies. Some also have no reason or cause is clear and is known as infertility without explanation (unexplained infertility).

Impregnation Technology Assisted Treatment (Assisted Reproductive Technology, ART) as described below are the proven methods to increase your chances of getting pregnant and the baby is healthy.

 Assisted conception:

□ artificial insemination (Intra Uterine Insemination, IUI)

□ In Vitro Fertilization (outside the uterus) (In Vitro Fertilization, IVF)

□ Sperm Injection Into Sitoplamik (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection, ICSI)

□ Laser Assisted Hatching Embryo (Laser Assisted Hatching, LAH)

□ Transfer Gamet into the Fallopian tubes (Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer, GIFT)

□ Freezing embryos / sperm (Frozen Embryo / Sperm)

□ Embryo biopsy prior to implantation Genetic Diagnosis (Embryo Biopsy for Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis)

□ analysis Sperm and Mani (Semen Analysis, SA)

□ Training in ART Technology Laboratory to participants / international scientists.

Artificial insemination (Intra Uterine Insemination, IUI)

This is the recommended initial treatment.
Matured eggs in women using fertility drugs
During ovulation, sperm samples were cleaned put into a woman's womb.
Fertilization takes place as usual (ie in one of the fallopian tube)
IUI is suitable for women who fallopionya channel is not clogged and that the number of men's sperm normal.

In Vitro Fertilisation (In Vitro Fertilization, IVF)

The eggs are removed from a woman and fertilized with sperm taken from the husband in the laboratory.
After fertilization, a maximum of two to three embryos transferred into the woman's uterus for pregnancy occurrence.
IVF can be used for women who have suffered damage to the fallopian tube, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian disease (polycystic ovarian syndrome / PCO), men who have sperm count were satisfactory and 'infertility without explanation' ( 'unexplained infertility').

Into cytoplasmic sperm injection (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection, ICSI)

Modern treatment of women who collect eggs and sperm from her husband.
Sperm cleaned and selected the most healthy for this purpose.
High-powered microscope and very fine needle is used to inject a single sperm into an egg for fertilization purposes.
The embryos are placed into the uterus for fertilization process.
ICSI is used in most low-quality sperm
