HEAD OF IMAGING DEPARTMENT
BACKGROUND
Previously, the Department of Imaging is an imaging unit which is placed under the Department of Medicine, FPSK. In the beginning of 2006, the unit was upgraded to the Department of Imaging and the operational was fully based in Serdang Campus. The department aspires to be forefront in the Radiology Education, Research and Center of Excellence in providing the best services with advanced diagnostic equipment and imaging art. The department also planning to establish a Reference Center for “Forensic Radiology”, “Cardiac Radiology” and “Pediatric Radiology” in the near future.
The department with its dedication is willing to provide safe, patient-oriented, efficient and cost effective services in radiology. In addition, department is also interested in promoting continuous medical learning including training and research in radiology field.

Academic
To provide theoretical and practical training for undergraduate, post graduate students and students/ radiographer or imaging diagnostic trainee of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Undergraduate
Department of Imaging plays a pivotal role to jointly offer the Medical Doctor Programme with other clinical departments in the faculty. More information regarding the Medical Doctor Programme offered by the faculty can be accessed from the Academic Programme website.
- SPK3241: Introductory Radiology (Year 3)
The course encompasses the basics in different imaging modalities which include radiation hazards and protection, the aspect of examination procedures, their clinical indications and contraindications. It also covers the interpretation of both normal and abnormal radiological images.)
Postgraduate
The department plans to offer the professional graduate program, Master of Radiology in the near future. The programme will also gain recognition and accreditation from various governing/professional bodies.

The focus of our research are:
- To upgrade the practice and method to produce image and process after image was taken in able to detect, diagnose and also determine the disease pattern and to suggest various solutions to treat the disease.

- Clinical expertise - In the field of CT Scan, MRI and Breast Imaging To provide general and special radiology services (mammography , ultrasonography, fluoroscopy)
- To provide mobile radiography services to wards
- To provide advanced services in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomograpy (CT SCAN)
