OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
Occupational Safety and Health field of study include a broad scope involving many specialized fields which aims at the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations; the prevention among workers of adverse effects on health caused by their working conditions; the protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health; the adaptation of work to humans.
Master of Science (MSc)
(1) Field of Study : Occupational Health and Safety Health
(2) Duration of Studies : 2 years
(3) Methods of Study : Course work with thesis
(4) Entry requirement : A Bachelor degree in Health Sciences from recognize university with minimum CGPA 2.5 Applicants who do not meet the above requirement, but with sufficient working and research experience, may also apply Students, who are in their last semester of study for the Bachelor’s degree, may apply for provisional admission,

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
(1) Field of Study : Occupational Health and Safety Health
(2) Duration of Studies : 3 – 4 years
(3) Methods of Study : Course work with thesis
(4) Entry requirement : A Master degree in field of Environmental Health or relevant field of Health Sciences from recognized universities First Class Bachelor degree in Environmental Health Science field with CGPA of above 3.75 Master students in Environmental Health or relevant Health Sciences who have submitted their thesis may apply for provisional admission

Course Synopsis
EOH 5202: Occupational Health and Safety Management System Credit : 3(3+0)
This course covers the applications of the principles of managing occupational health and safety. The requirements of OHSMS Standards including OHSAS 18001:1999, ILO OSH Guidelines 2001 and the principles of auditing an OHSMS will also be discussed.
EOH 5302 : Advanced Environmental Epidemiology Credit : 3(3 + 0)
This course discusses specific epidemiological approaches in understanding the causation and type of diseases due to environmental exposure. The roles of epidemiology research in envrionmental health, suitability of research design for various case studies in environmental health.
EOH 6202: Advanced Occupational Health and Safety Management System Credit: 3(3+0)
This course explains the process of developing policies, manuals and procedures in OHSMS. Applications of the requirements of OHSMS Standards including OHSAS 18001:1999, ILO OSH Guidelines 2001. Principles of OHSMS auditing in planning, implementing, measuring, monitoring, evaluating and decision making in managing occupational health and safety issues will be emphasized.
