Medical Research Ethics

The Medical Research Ethics Committee is now upgraded to university status and it is officially called Jawatankuasa Etika Universiti Penyelidikan Melibatkan Manusia (JKEUPM).

Additional information for researchers:

JKEUPM recognized ethical clearance from other Ethical Committees e.g. from Ministry of Health and other universities, which are recognized by the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (BPFK), Ministry of Health Malaysia; and as such, a separate ethical clearance from JKEUPM is not necessary. However, if the research project involves students (undergraduate/ postgraduate) as part of their thesis project, then, JKEUPM ethical clearance is needed.
