17th College New Students Sharing Session - Dr Chee Hui Yee

"Through the lens of international relief: Self-actualization and contribution"

SERDANG - Dr Chee Hui Yee, a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology recently held a sharing session on 4 Nov 2016 with 17th College new students. She shared about her experiences and wisdom gained from taking part in International Relief with international NGO, Tzu Chi Foundation.


Participants wrote down what were the 5 important things in their life

The title of her sharing was "Through the lens of international relief: Self-actualization and contribution". She used five steps to present her sharing ~ Experience (through stimulating activity), Story-telling (videos on natural disasters and man-made disaster), Introspection (asking questions related to the videos, the disaster and current situation), Reflection (her own experiences in international relief) and Life Practice (what can university students do). The international relief included Typhoon Haiyan at Philippines, Nepal earthquake, Syrian refugees’ camps at Serbia and Flood in France.

She ended the sharing with a song and simple game. The purpose of the sharing was to encourage the young and energetic university students to take part in humanitarian activities beside study.
