REPORT ON “SHORT COURSE ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT”, 16 – 17 FEBRUARY 2016 On the 16 and 17 of February, 2016, the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, with the cooperation of the Office of the Deputy Dean (Research and Internationalization), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, organized a “Short Course on Disaster Management”. The course was attended by 88 Masters of Public Health students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Malahayati (UNIMAL), Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Eight lecturers from the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health were invited to give lectures. The titles of lectures encompassed drinking water management during disasters to Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping in disaster management.

Overall, the participants were very pleased with the lectures presented and hoped that what they have learned during the two-day course can be applied if they are caught up in the real situation. It is also hoped that this course will be a yearly program especially for the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences as a whole.
