Summary for ISEP Cultural Fair 2016

SUMMARY “ISEP CULTURAL FAIR ” ON 13 APRIL 2016

On 13 April 2016 a group of 12 postgraduate students, led by Dr Suriani Ismail and Dr Rosliza Abdul Manaf, from Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, participated in the ISEP Cultural Fair 2016. The International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) is an international network which encourages student exchanges all around the world. It was founded in 1979 and has enrolled more than 37,000 students.

 

 

ISEP Cultural Fair 2016 was being held as an effective learning experiences that incorporates fun and challenge to educate pupils and improve their knowledge about cultures of the different nationalities in the world. It was held in Sekolah Rendah Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya.


The group consists of mainly Nigerians and 4 local students embarked in the journey in educating the cultures from Nigeria. Booth No. 6, named “Welcome to Nigeria” has attracted many pupils and students to join the activities provided by the postgraduate students. There were posters on Nigerian cultures, quizzes, canoe making using recycled papers and also an interactive Nigerian dance lesson.

The group managed to implement its objectives in promoting the Nigerian cultures. The group has also won as the “Most Fun Booth”.
