The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences was established on 1st August 1996 as a result of the merger of The Bio-Medical Department of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science with the Nutrition and Community Health Department of the Faculty of Human Ecology. Currently, there are 1,200 full-time students in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

FACULTY MISSION

The mission of Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia is to become a centre of excellence via effective and skillful teaching, research, professional services and consultancy in the field of medical and health sciences.

FACULTY OBJECTIVES

To contribute consultancy and advisorial services and development to goverment agencies, non-govermental cooperation and the private sector.

To increase cooperation and partnership with local and foreign agencies, institutions and bodies.

To supply trained staff in the medical, bio-medical, nutritional and other health sciences fields to meet the needs of the faculty.

To increase research activities in various medical, bio-medical, nutrition and health science fields.

QUALITY POLICY

It is the policy of the Medical and Health Sciences Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia to produce graduates excelling in the field of medical and health sciences through its teaching and learning system which has been implemented based on the Quality Management System which is frequently upgraded in its effectiveness in line with MS 9001:2000.
