(Environmental and Occupational Health) |
This
programme is supervised by the Community Health Department
which has nine specialised units related to the field
of public health. This programme is conducted by involving
two main units – the Environmental Health Unit and
the Occupational Health Unit - plus the participation
of other units and departments under the Faculty of Medical
and Health Sciences and other faculties including the
Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies.

| General
Objective |
The
objectives of this programme are:
1. To produce skilled manpower in this field to meet the
country’s needs in safeguarding community health
by improving the quality of the environment and the work
place through comprehensive knowledge from the combination
of basic science courses (biology, physics and chemistry),
environmental science, social science, applied science
and health science (physiology, epidemiology and toxicology).
2. To produce skilled manpower who are able to manage
the environment and a healthy and safe work place to increase
workers’ performance and productivity to ensure
the country’s development.
3. To produce graduates capable of conducting research
and consultancy in this field to improve the community’s
quality of life and health.
